  Winter is here and it’s time for Jowler Creek’s 5th Annual Tank Tasting Party. At this exclusive event, you'll be able to sample our 2009 Norton, Chambourcin, and Vignoles straight from the tank and share your thoughts with the winemakers on how they taste.

• Grapevine Pruning Demonstration
  EVENT DATE: March 13, 2010; 1:00 & 3:00 p.m.
  Wanting to learn how to prune that grapevine in your backyard or wondering how pruning effects overall wine quality? Come out and see in these FREE grapevine pruning demonstrations led by vineyard manager Colleen Gerke. Pruning demonstrations will start promptly in the vineyard at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Come on out – no reservations are required, just meet us in front of the tasting room.

 

APRIL 2010

• Traminette Release Party
  EVENT DATE: April 10-11, 2010
  After much anticipation we have our 2009 vintage of Traminette bottled and ready to drink. This tasty wine is loaded with fruity scents and crawling with pear, green apple, and citrus flavors. It pairs perfectly with heavier seafood dishes, chicken, quail, or succulent cream sauces. Be one of the first to try it at this FREE event.
  
  
  

• Babydoll Sheep Sheering Demonstration
  EVENT DATE: April 24, 2010; 1:00 & 3:00 p.m.
  This past year we’ve been using a small flock of “miniature” sheep to “mow” our vineyard. So far they’ve been doing a great job, but they need to be sheered before we set them out to get back to mowing this spring. Sheering demonstrations will start promptly in the vineyard at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Come on out – no reservations are required, just meet us in front of the tasting room.

 

MAY 2010

• Adopt-a-Vine Party
  EVENT DATE: May 8, 2010; 1:00 p.m.
  Wanting to start your own backyard vineyard? At this unique event, vineyard manager Colleen Gerke will explain the basics of managing a vineyard, and you’ll leave with your very own Vignoles grapevine for your yard…grown right from the vines in Jowler Creek Vineyard.
  COST: FREE for Creek Club members or $15/non-member (including the vine to take home with you). Reservations are required for this event. RSVP by May 2 to reserve your spot.

 

JUNE 2010

• Vignoles Release Party
  EVENT DATE: June 5-6, 2010
  Be one of the first to try our 2009 vintage of Vignoles this weekend at this FREE event! Back by popular demand, this wine is rather exotic and loaded with flavors of peach, strawberry, apricot, pineapple, and honey. Yet it’s light, crisp and refreshing. It’s the perfect mate to a light lunch out on the back deck, or a hot and spicy supper.

• Norton Wine Vertical Tasting

  At this exclusive event you’ll be able to taste several vintages of Jowler Creek Norton and Nort side-by-side to experience their distinct characteristics that set them apart, as well as stay consistent across the vintages. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to leave with your very own Riedel tasting glass made exclusively to taste Norton wines. We’re the only winery in the Kansas City area that has these glasses available.
