• Grapevine Pruning Demonstration
  EVENT DATE: March 13, 2010; 1:00 & 3:00 p.m.
  Wanting to learn how to prune that grapevine in your backyard or wondering how pruning effects overall wine quality? Come out and see in these FREE grapevine pruning demonstrations led by vineyard manager Colleen Gerke. Pruning demonstrations will start promptly in the vineyard at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Come on out – no reservations are required, just meet us in front of the tasting room.

• Nort Release Party
  EVENT DATE: March 27-28, 2010
  After much anticipation, our popular Port-style blend is back! Be one of the first to try our 2009 vintage at this FREE event! We truly think this is the best vintage yet. Scents of blackberries, plums, and chocolate will fill your nose. This weekend we’ll be pairing it with dark chocolate, nuts, and cheeses with a little bite.

• Earth Day Celebration
  EVENT DATE: April 24 & 25, 2010; 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  To celebrate Earth Day, we'll be opening up the gates to our vineyard (which is typically closed to the public) and turning it into a wine garden. So pack up a picnic lunch, come up and grab a bottle and enjoy it in between the vines!

 

MAY 2010

• Babydoll Sheep Sheering Demonstration
  EVENT DATE: May 1, 2010; 1:00 & 3:00 p.m.
  This past year we’ve been using a small flock of “miniature” sheep to “mow” our vineyard. So far they’ve been doing a great job, but they need to be sheered before we set them out to get back to mowing this spring. Sheering demonstrations will start promptly in the vineyard at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Come on out – no reservations are required, just meet us in front of the tasting room.
  
  
  
• Adopt-a-Vine Party
  EVENT DATE: May 8, 2010; 1:00 p.m.
  Wanting to start your own backyard vineyard? At this unique event, vineyard manager Colleen Gerke will explain the basics of managing a vineyard, and you’ll leave with your very own Vignoles grapevine for your yard…grown right from the vines in Jowler Creek Vineyard.

• Grapevine Planting Party
  EVENT DATE: May 15, 2010; 8:00 a.m.
  Join the fun and get a glimpse into what it takes to start your own vineyard. We’ll be planting more than 600 vines this day and we need your help! We'll start planting at 8:00 a.m. and finish with a yummy lunch as soon as all the vines are in the ground. • Vignoles Release Party
  EVENT DATE: June 5-6, 2010
  Be one of the first to try our 2009 vintage of Vignoles this weekend at this FREE event! Back by popular demand, this wine is rather exotic and loaded with flavors of peach, strawberry, apricot, pineapple, and honey. Yet it’s light, crisp and refreshing. It’s the perfect mate to a light lunch out on the back deck, or a hot and spicy supper.
  
  
  

• Traminette Release Party
  EVENT DATE: June 26-27, 2010; 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  If tigers drank some of our 2010 Traminette along with cinnamon, we think they’d love it. Try this food and wine pairing – along with several others – at this FREE party celebrating the recent release of our 2010 vintage of Traminette. This wine is ONLY available in the tasting room. The party will take place from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

  Our new building is complete and the doors to the new tasting room and production area are officially open! To celebrate, we'll be pairing our wines with different foods and offering discounts on select wines throughout the weekend. • Winemaker for a Day Workshop
  EVENT DATE: August 20, 2010; 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
  Ever dream of making your very own wine from grape to glass? Here's your chance to turn that dream into reality! You’ll start the day picking your own Vignoles grapes right off the vine. Jowler Creek’s wine makers will then lead you through the process of turning your grapes into liquid sunshine. You’ll work as a team to destem, crush, and press your grapes. Learn how dozens of little decisions add up to impact the outcome of your wine. You'll leave with everything you need to ferment and finish approximately 30 bottles of your very own wine to give away to friends, family, or enjoy by yourself!
  COST: $275/person which includes all of the supplies you'll need for the day and a delicious lunch out in the vineyard.
