At Jowler Creek, the fun starts in the vineyard, no matter
the season.
We carefully tend to each and every one of our more than 3,000 vines on an individual basis, while practicing sustainable, integrated pest management and soil and water conservation programs throughout the vineyard. And, since we always want our “Creek Critters” to feel at home, we’ve built and established hawk, owl, and bat houses to help them stick around.
We’re continually on the lookout for ways to make our vineyard – as well as other local vineyards – more sustainable. In fact, we recently received a grant from the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program to test the effectiveness of controlling grass and weed growth in Midwestern vineyards with managed, rotational grazing of Olde English Babydoll sheep.
